Write a poem... and win a Bobblehead Jesus!
Bards 'n' Bobbleheads
Write a poem celebrating our 10th anniversary and you could win the ultimate nod of appreciation a Bobblehead Jesus
It sails in chaos, like a night
Of caffeined highs or drunken lows...
So begins a poem already submitted to the Ship of Fools' 10th anniversary poetry competition.
All readers, whether Bulletin Board "shipmates" or not, are invited to craft a poem celebrating this virtual vessel's decade at sea. The winner, chosen by shipmates Chorister and Comet, will receive a much-prized
Bobblehead Jesus
.
"Any style of poetry is allowed and a donation to the Ship of Fools Organ Fund per entry is welcomed but not compulsory. Your chance of winning doesn't depend on it," says Chorister, who thought up the competition.
"And don't worry if you are not a Poet Laureate. Enter for the fun of it. Multiple entries are allowed! Let's celebrate what we have enjoyed about the ship over the past 10 years."
To whet the appetite, here are the first lines of a few more poems already penned:
The Ship, I'm told, is swift and bold...
The Ship and the crew
As any fule gnu
Were divided from fo'c's'le to aft...
(to the tune of My Favourite Things)
Posts that are thoughtful, clever or funny
Hell hosts with pitchforks. A soft fluffy bunny...
